ACADEMIC AWARDS PROGRAM

Over the past number of years, Canada Law Book has provided students with the opportunity to earn an award recognizing academic excellence.

Recently, Canada Law Book was purchased by Carswell, a Thomson Reuters Business. As a result of the integration we will be suspending the Canada Law Book Law School Awards program effective September 2011. Over the next few months we will be reviewing our academic awards program under the new Thomson Reuters organization. We wish to broaden our academic award offerings to recognize the diversity of schools and students across Canada as well as to ensure that we are recognizing excellence across all of the markets we serve, including legal, finance and accounting, and human resources. 

All awards granted during the 2010-2011 academic year will be honoured but no new awards will be granted after September 1, 2011. As usual, requests for awards for the 2010-2011 academic year must be received by December 31, 2011.  No requests for 2010-2011 awards will be processed after that date.

We will share information with you about our new academic awards program once they have been established.  Until then, we ask you not to publish details of any existing awards offered by Canada Law Book in your student communications.  We would also appreciate your assistance by informing all within the Faculty and awards administration who should be made aware of this change.
