Latest Developments: 2013 Canadian Federal Budget
McCarthy Tétrault has written an in-depth analysis of the 2013 Federal Budget. The Honourable Jim Flaherty, Minister of Finance, introduced the Conservative government's eighth Federal Budget on Thursday March 21, 2013.
Within the budget there were no proposed changes to income tax rates and some modest incentives in the form of enhanced capital cost allowances are proposed. However, much of Budget 2013 is directed at closing down what the Government regards as loopholes.
These and other tax highlights of the March 21, 2013 Federal Budget are discussed in the Thomson Reuters McCarthy Tétrault 2013 Federal Budget Webinar and McCarthy Tétrault Commentary.
