About the Author
John R. Mott, C.A., CFP, TEP, author of Tax Guide for Investment Advisors, 2007 Edition, is a Chartered Accountant with more than 20 years of experience as an income tax specialist. He owns and manages a public accounting practice based in Toronto that provides tax, accounting and advisory services to individuals and businesses. Mr. Mott holds an MBA from the University of Toronto and an undergraduate business degree from Lakehead University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA, Illinois), Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and a Registered Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP). Mr. Mott has tutored for several years at the In-Depth Tax Course sponsored by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA). He is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). His articles have appeared in various publications, including the Canadian Tax Journal and The Financial Post Magazine.
