About the Author
The Honourable Justice Thomas A. Cromwell has been a judge of the Supreme Court of Canada since 2008. He had previously been appointed to the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal in 1997 after serving as Executive Legal Officer to the Chief Justice of Canada. He practised law in Ontario and was a law professor at Dalhousie Law School, where he taught evidence and civil procedure. He received his legal education at Queen's and Oxford University. He is also the editor of Effective Written Advocacy and Preparation of Factums (Canada Law Book).
