Product Writer

 

As a Product Writer you will write and plan the content of specific Major Market print and electronic publications.

 

Your duties will include:

 

·         providing writing, for various publications, that is consistent with all Thomson Carswell editorial standards;

·         keeping abreast of and implementing all changes and styles which impact writing;

·         providing timely, accurate and topical information for assigned product;

·         sourcing editorial material and maintaining an efficient network of internal and external sources and contacts upon which to draw for content, topics, contributions and clarifications;

·         researching, tracking and reviewing primary material requiring analysis in publications;

·         writing and delivering timely manuscript, including release notes;

·         providing testing and other support for various online and CD-ROM products as needed; and

·         attending appropriate industry seminars, conferences and training programs to maintain content expertise.

 

You will be a strong team player and will possess:

 

·         an LL.B. and relevant publishing experience;

·         extensive product-specific content knowledge;

·         exceptional written and verbal English communication skills;

·         demonstrated research/writing skills;

·         the ability to work with minimum direct supervision;

·         the ability to work under tight deadlines and to handle a variety of activities simultaneously;

·         excellent interpersonal skills; and

·         PC skills – MS Office.

 

Familiarity with WestlaweCarswell and other online legal research tools will be considered and asset.
