Quality Assurance Analyst
As a Quality Assurance Analyst you will be responsible for testing efforts by analyzing business requirements, preparing and writing test cases and executing the test. A key responsibility is the hands on maintenance, development and execution of manual and automated test cases.
Your duties will include:
· evaluating business requirements for completeness; preparing test strategy, planning and writing test scripts;
· testing execution of automated and manual scripts for online product releases;
· working with project team to evaluate test strategy and coverage to resolve defects;
· writing and updating manual and automated regression scripts using HP Quick Test Professional (Functional Test) and Quality Center. Writes test cases ranging basic to complex using business Requirements and Design Documents;
· coordinating user acceptance testing for new product releases;
· interfacing with Strategic Marketing group team to diagnose and track customer technology complaints to identify and track usability issues;
· managing bug tracking database using Team Foundation Server (TFS);
· executing tests, track defects and follow defects through the resolution process until fix is verified and closed;
· following quality procedures and test standards, executing manual and automated tests for software builds within scheduled releases. Test approaches include; white-box, black-box, positive/negative testing. Test types include functional, integration, regression, UAT, and where applicable performance/stress;
· analyzing test result, and document defect/issues in bug tracking system. Proactively troubleshoot with business, development and QA peers to replicate/identify, and resolve issues;
· documenting defect/issues in TFS system, including relevant brief descriptions of the issue with detailed steps to replicate. With attention to priority issues, proactively alert business team and provide regular progress reports of all issues as necessary. Share with project team in meetings;
· participating in Agile software development process by performing manual testing;
· effectively troubleshooting issues encountered during product implementation and help identify and address issues;
· contributing to continued improvements of QA processes to ensure a high level of software quality;
· participating in post implementation reviews and processes (e.g. lessons learned, post-install application verifications etc.);
· assisting in the preparation of test result walkthroughs / presentations to the project team and business representatives;
· applying and following established testing best practices;
· completing tasks according to project timelines/schedules;
· recommending process improvements where appropriate; and
· working collaboratively to identify solutions and resolve problems.
You will be a strong team player and will possess:
· a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field;
· 3-5 years of experience. Must include experience in full life cycle development projects and experience with HP QTP, and Team Foundation Server;
· a thorough understanding of software testing methodologies;
· project development using software development lifecycle methodology (e.g., Waterfall, Agile and Iterative);
· the ability to work independently and meet deadlines;
· excellent written and communications skills;
· proven interpersonal, analytical, attention to detail/strategy and creative problem solving skills; and
· the ability to work on multiple projects and set priorities.
Familiarity with tax and legal concepts and Bilingualism English/French will be considered an asset.
