- Quick Print Document icon - This icon (
) allows users to quickly print the document they are viewing, as an alternative to using the Print/Save/Email options box ( ).(January, 2012)
- The Print, Save and Email functionality has been enhanced so users will be able to print, save or email the Hit List (with or without words around hits), print, save or email just the summary/headnote or note up of a case, highlight search terms in the output and select a cover page (with notes) for the output. A single icon (
) has replaced the six print, save and email icons that were in the Navigation Bar, and the three icons that were at the top of the Hit List. A new icon ( ) allows users to add check boxes to the Table of Contents in order to select documents for output. More details are available in the Print/Save/Email Options section on the revised Help page.
- Change to Search Template Names – The “Index Search” has been renamed the “Case Summaries Topical Index Search”, and the “Advanced Custom Search” has been renamed the “Custom Content Search”. These changes make the names more descriptive and standardize them with other Canada Law Book research services
- Diamond images
have been added allowing you to quickly see the most important decisions on your Hit List. The decisions with the are reported decisions from Dominion Law Reports, Labour Arbitration Cases and Canadian Criminal Cases and include the headnotes and other finding tools to make your research faster and more efficient.
- The Research Tracker now includes a Disbursement Manager, which allows you to:
- track research tasks and/or time to a particular client
- mandate tracking and set transaction rates for your firm or organization
- manage passwords and generate reports to enable you to disburse research costs to your clients.

- A collection of unsummarized decisions, including British Columbia decisions from 1971 to 1976. These decisions will augment our existing collection of reported and summarized decisions.
- The latest Supreme Court of Canada decisions have been added to BestCase. These judgments will be posted within one hour of being issued by the Court. SCC cases are added to the BestCase database within 24 hours of being posted and are fully searchable. You can find these decisions under a new tab "Latest SCC Cases".
- The Case/Party Name text box in the Case Law Search template is now an "and" search to facilitate the searching of multiple party names.
- The Boolean Search template now allows you to search a range of dates or years by using the greater than ">", equal to "=" and less than "<" symbols
(e.g., [D: >=january 1, 1977 <=march 31, 1977]).
